Immersed In Black ist eine Hamburger Band, die sich im Jahre 2019 gegründet hat. Der Grundstein wurde jedoch schon im Jahre 2011 gelegt, als die Bandgründer Frank und Daniela Alscher, sich in einer Mittelalter/ Folkrock-Band kennenlernten. Frank, der Frontsänger der damaligen Band, und Daniela, Backroundsängerin und Keyboarderin, traten 2014 aus der Band aus und gründeten ihr eigenes Projekt. Es entstanden Songs, die nun einem ganz anderem Genre entstammten: Gothicrock und Darkwave. Die Songs wurden im Tonstudio bearbeitet, Videos in Eigenregie produziert und veröffentlicht und das Projekt erhielt den Namen "Immersed In Black". Es vergingen einige weitere Jahre, bis 2018 der Gitarrist Victor Palluch zu dem Projekt dazu kam. Der spielte eher härtere Riffs aus dem Hardrock auf seiner E-Gitarre, holte aber auch mal gerne die Akustikgitarre heraus. So war der nächste Plan, als Dreiergespann Coversongs in Kneipen und Bars zu präsentieren. Jedoch reifte letztendlich die Idee von der Gründung einer neuen Band mit den eigenen Songs. 2019 kamen
Jörg Bengsen, Tim Ostermann und Carsten Lichnau dazu und aus den verschiedenen Einflüssen und Musikstilen, die jeder Musiker aus seiner vorherigen Musiklaufbahn mitbrachte, entstand ein einzigartiger Stil.
Inspiriert vom Postpunk und Gothabilly, kann die Musik heute unter dem Deathrock und dem Goth n Roll eingeordnet werden. Jedoch überrascht die Band gerne mit Stilbrüchen. So wird der Hörer auch mal einen Sixties Punk oder Tango serviert bekommen. Dazwischen gibt es härtere und eher epische metallastige Klänge. Als Garnierung gibt es gruselige und skurrile Geschichten, sowie düstere Legenden mit Ironie und gerne auch mal Humor verpackt.
Wer Immersed In Black auf der Bühne einmal live erlebt hat, bekommt Lust auf mehr, denn sie sind, was ihre Musik betrifft, immer für eine Überraschung gut.

Immersed In Black is a band from Hamburg Germany, that was founded in 2019. The formation of this band is as unique as their music itself. The band founders, Frank and Daniela Alscher, met in 2011 in a medieval/folkrock band. Frank, the lead singer of the band at that time and Daniela, background singer and keyboarder, left the band in 2014 and started their own project. Songs were created which now came from a completely different genre: Gothicrock and Darkwave. The songs were edited in a recording studio, videos were produced and released on their own, the project was named "Immersed In Black". A few years passed until guitarist Victor Palluch joined the project in 2018. He played harder riffs, from hardrock, on his electric guitar, but he also liked to play acoustic guitar. So the next plan was to present cover songs in pubs and bars as a trio. But finally the idea of founding a new band with own songs matured. Not only passion, ability and ambition were important, but also the interpersonal relationships should be right in every aspect. The joy and fun of making music, cordiality and openness for the ideas and influences of all participants had top priority. A challenge that first seemed to be completed in 2019 by Jörg Bengsen, Tim Ostermann and Carsten Lichnau.
Today Immersed In Black are Frank Alscher "The Dude of Death" (vocals), Daniela Alscher "LaCatrina" (vocals, keyboard), Victor "Vic Skullface" (guitar), Rene Kriese "Bloody Rooster" (drums). and Andreas Pachali "The Owl" (bass).
From the different musical styles, that each musician brought with them, a unique style emerged, based on deathrock and inspired by postpunk, gothabilly and later goth n roll. Immersed In Black like to experiment with different genres and to surprise with style breaks. For exampke a sixties punk on one side, in between a tango, then a reggea, followed by harder, more epic and metal-heavy sounds at the end. And there is always a rockabilly vibe. In addition, there are creepy and bizarre stories, as well as dark legends packed with irony and sometimes black humor.
That is a fantastic dark and colorful repertoire of music that is surprisingly fun and makes every bone dance.
